Darphin Wrinkle Corrective Eye Contour Cream

So, I had a little splurge… I’m blaming it on Dermstore’s 25% off Anniversary Sale. Among the things I bought for myself was the Darphin Wrinkle Corrective Eye Contour Cream. Parisian brand, Darphin is way up there on my list of lust-worthy luxury skincare lines, and I was itching to spoil myself a bit and get my hands on this beautiful little pot of eye cream.

First impressions: Weighty, luxe, frosted glass packaging; beautiful smell; very indulgent-feeling, mousse-like texture. I was worried that it might be heavy on the skin, because the texture of the cream definitely has some body to it, but it sinks in immediately and doesn’t leave a greasy feel. The scent is fresh, lovely and not overdone (maybe citrus, with a little bit of geranium? —based on the ingredients list).

Who I think might enjoy it: The richness of this cream I think would lend itself to use as a restorative eye cream—something nourishing and healing for when the eye area is feeling extra sensitive or dry. As this product contains cocoa seed butter (comedogenic rating of 4 out of a possible 5), I would think it might be better suited for drier and more mature skin types. If you are very prone to milia, I would recommend to proceed with caution. Since this is a first impression, I can’t speak to the long term anti-aging benefits, however, the formula includes Hyaluronic Acid Spheres, which should help to immediately plump out any lines caused by dehydration, as well as Peptides, which are said to stimulate the production of collagen.

So far, I’m deeply enjoying this luxurious eye cream. I will update with results after thorough testing!
