Huxley Oil Essence

There has been a lot of buzz around this product over the past year, thanks to the Korean skincare gurus at Glow Recipe, so I know I’m late to the party–but, holy lush texture, Batman!

Wow, am I impressed by this oil-essence hybrid! It feels like an especially silky serum, and I find it to be supremely comforting on my recent retinol-induced dry skin. A quick look at the ingredients list reveals that it not only features Huxley’s signature Organic Sahara Cactus Oil, but an impressive list of plant based extracts. The scent is a gorgeous, subtle floral that I think contributes greatly to the luxurious experience. Also, as my designer’s brain is incapable of ignoring, the packaging is about as elegant as it gets–beautifully minimal, frosted glass–what more could you want?

So, who do I think might enjoy this? Anyone who would like to add an extra layer of hydration and nutrition to their routine. I think this could easily suit most any skin–in particular, I was looking for something gentle that I could layer with the active ingredients I have going in my daily lineup–but this could absolutely be used on its own. Someone with an oilier skin could likely use this is the last step of their routine before SPF, as the oil-essence formulation allows it to be uniquely hydrating and moisturizing at the same time.

As I’m sure you’ve gathered, I think this one hits it out of the park, and I expect it will become one of my all-time favorites. (P.S. not sponsored!) I will update with long-term benefits after further use!
