I feel very fortunate to have been contacted by the Kanya team with an opportunity to test a selection of their products. After hearing founder, Vernika speak passionately about her brand’s philosophy, based in Chakra therapy (something which I had previously known virtually nothing about!), and about her focus on improving the lives of underprivileged girls and women in India, I was even more excited to experience these products. Truthfully, I am not exaggerating when I say that they provide a next-level sensory experience and luxury! The bath soak/scrub and body oil were especially divine, and I will absolutely be purchasing Kanya’s products in the future, for myself and for others! Read on for a full description and review of each of the products I received below.

(*For clarity, this post is NOT sponsored. I received these products as complimentary P.R. samples for testing/review purposes.)

How Kanya describes themselves:

“Kanya (kanyâ), the Sanskrit word for ‘girl’ symbolizes youth, innocence and purity.

Kanya is a holistic, natural, luxurious product line made with unparalleled ingredients to renew, revitalize, and restore your skin. It is an introduction to ancient Chakra Therapy that soothes and nourishes your skin, senses, and spirit. Our brand derives its name from our passion to promote the well-being of girls living in under-privileged parts of the world.”

Kanya offers a unique range of high quality products with the intent of supporting charities dedicated to the well-being of girls living in deprived communities. A percentage of Kanya’s profits go to the Indian Dreams Foundation (IDF), a charity based in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. IDF works relentlessly toward education, health, and menstrual hygiene awareness in urban slums and rural areas of India.”

The products:

Product Description/Ingredients: “A perfect blend of healing salts (Epsom & Dead Sea), Aloe, virgin shea butter, plant extracts, exfoliates and hydrates your skin resulting in a younger and relaxed you.” … “To use as a scrub: massage over moist skin until the salts dissolve to leave your skin exfoliated and nourished. To use as a bath soak: add a few scoops to your bathtub to indulge in a relaxing experience. Store in a cool and dry place.”

My experience: Wowza! I have never experienced anything quite like this. In the past I have not been a big fan of scrubs (for face or body), but this particular one is truly unique and special. They way I used it was to scoop out a small amount and apply to damp skin in the tub. As you rub it in, the salt dissolves and the natural butter/oils become more apparent, nourishing the skin simultaneously. Then, the lovely aromatic oils and salts dissolve into the bath—making for a lovely therapeutic soak.

    Product Description/Ingredients:
“A luxurious blend of rare exotic oils with natural retinol, omega fatty acids, anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins A, B, C, E, & K. Locks moisture, nourishes and renews your skin to leave it radiant and youthful. The Sacral Chakra essential oil blend immerses you in a floral, warm, woodsy aroma that evokes passion and sensuality.” … “INGREDIENTS: Maracuja oil, Meadowfoam seed oil, Moringa seed oil, Pumpkin seed oil, Rosehip seed oil, Safflower oil, Vitamin E oil with aroma (Kanya’s Sacral Chakra pure essential oil blend).”

My experience: For me, this product was the star of the show. The ingredient list is extremely impressive, chock-full of the kind of high-quality oils one might expect to see in a product for face. The application feels nourishing, but absorbs readily on the skin, and the essential oils envelop you in a beautiful aroma. I have been using this most every night since I received it!

Product Description/Ingredients: “Restore and rejuvenate your skin with Vitamin C, Witch Hazel, Neroli Hydrosol, and Aloe Vera. This formula with MSM heals hyper-pigmentation, scarring, sun damage and fights free radicals to slow down the aging process. This is a rejuvenating alcohol-free formula that can be used several times a day and will not dry out skin.” … “INGREDIENTS: Witch Hazel, Neroli Hydrosol, Dimethyl Sulfone (MSM), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Vitamin C, Glycolic Acid, Vegetable Glycerin (Kosher), Bearberry Leaf Extract, Organic Gotu Kola extract, Kelp Extract, Oregon Grape Root Extract, Pomegranate Fruit Extract, Sage Leaf Extract, Spirulina Maxima Extract, Lichen Extract, Organic Cranberry Fruit Extract, Peppermint essential oil, Tangerine essential oil.”

My experience: This is a lovely facial mist, and the size allows it to be fabulous for on-the-go. It’s hydrating, delicately scented (it reminds me of the minty-botanical scent of the Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator), and includes antioxidant vitamin C, exfoliating glycolic acid, and a whole host of lovely botanicals—what’s not to love?!

Product Description/Ingredients: “Crown & Third Eye Chakra blend imparts a fresh floral and herbal aroma to boost focus and bestow tranquility.” … “MAIN INGREDIENTS: Pure essential oil blend (frankincense, holy basil, lavender, myrrh).”

My experience: This was my very first foray into essential oil diffusing—I actually bought myself a diffuser to test this product, and I’m not sorry that I did! This essential oil blend, when diffused, surrounds you in a calming, mood enhancing cocoon. I have been using it during my work days, and I am addicted!

I’m very excited to be able to bring awareness to this exceptional brand. If you have tried anything from their range, I’d love to hear about your experience!
